Have people been distracted from the ongoing war on terrror by the economic crisis
October 30, 2008
The governments of the world have, on many occasions, used the media as a distraction technique in order to differ attention from potentially embarrassing situations. The question being asked is, “ Is it possible that the major world powers are currently diverting the attention brought about by a failing war on terror into fears of a world wide economic crisis which is more clear cut to address?” In a world which is now so heavily reliant on the fast and efficient distribution of news, is it possible that some information which should be readily accessible is being suppressed so that lesser important but more entertaining news can be circulated? Does the public really care what they are being subjected to by the media or are they too busy to notice? I ask these questions with the best of intentions and with a growing personal concern that the more independent we become as individuals the greater the distance between people and state will become. The reality is that in this disillusioned world of politics with divisions of race, religion, and thought, how long can our integrity as a people endure? If you feel like this blog addresses any concerns which you may also have or would like to post a comment, send and email or get in contact with me, please feel free.
